The bottled water section at the local grocery store near me in NYC. Hour long checkout lines. Water, batteries, flashlights and candles sold out. People are unsure what to expect.
Hurricane Sandy hits with full-force later today… winds are steadily picking up. I am hoarding my jar of peanut butter and the cinnamon scented candle I was able to find at the hardware store in wait… off to take some pictures for now though.

A short piece on the life and work of journalist Tim Hetherington who was tragically killed in Misurata, Libya in 2011.
I was lucky enough to meet Tim in New York City in 2010 and was struck by his commitment to being a documentarian. He was seemingly un-attached to the tools he was using be it stills or video, film or digital… He simply focused on what he thought would do the best job as the story he was trying to tell was paramount.
In my opinion his work shows a sophistication well beyond his peers and his influence cannot be measured.
